052305 – 8pm: At approximately 6:20pm today, Lt Gov. of SC, Andre Bauer and a passenger were in a single engine plane crash in Blacksburg, SC. Initial reports are that the Lt. Gov. and passenger were conscious as they were medivaced to local hospitals.
10pm Update: The Lt. Gov. was piloting a Moonie 231 Single Engine Plane. The engine had just been overhauled. Bauer is in a Greenville hospital with arm and leg injuries and is said to be in good condition. His passenger is in a Spartanburg hospital with minor injuries.
052406 8am Update: Passenger John Leonhardt, age 70, is said to be in fair condition. Bauer has an injured arm and a broken ankle. More info from the local paper.
