The Charleston 22 - Updated

The "Charleston 22" went to their first hearing yesterday. 4 of the 22 pleaded guilty to gambling charges and received a $100.00 fine. The remaining 18 entered not guilty pleas and asked for a jury trial. (I heard on the radio this morning that in almost 200 years, only ONE person has ever been convicted of gambing in this state - am looking for proof.)

There have been lots of letters to the editor and this has been discussed on tv and radio. In fact, the SC Organization of Poker Enthusiasts has a great round-up.
